May 2008 - GEA Wiegand were awarded the order for the delivery of a plant for the dealcoholization of wheat beer by Privaten Weissbierbrauerei G. Schneider & Sohn in Kelheim in the middle of 2007. The investment was done in connection with the extension of the overall beer production in Kelheim which was carried out by GEA Tuchenhagen.
The plant is a 2-effect falling film evaporator which is particularly suited for this application.
GEA Wiegand developed this process already during the 80s and this process stands out for particularly low temperatures, short residence times and the avoidance of any recirculation in the plant. This matchless process is more expensive than traditional processes, but taste tests led to the decision in favour of the GEA Wiegand process.
The excellent quality of the wheat beer could now be demonstrated sovereignly after the plant was delivered and commissioned in April 2008. Private Weissbierbrauerei G. Schneider & Sohn is satisfied with the quality of the dealcoholized beer.
