Niro A/S of Sœborg, Denmark and GEA Wiegand GmbH of Ettlingen, Germany (both are companies of the GEA Group AG) have delivered and successfully commissioned a complete production plant for a homoeopathic drug. In addition to the extractor and two different types of dryers, the GEA Wiegand falling film evaporator forms the key component of the plant. A falling film evaporator is particularly suited for this case of application, as it best ensures the gentle treatment of the extracts required by the customer thanks to the extremely short product residence times and the vacuum based low temperature concept.
