January 2006 – After being successful in the field of bioethanol GEA Wiegand has now been awarded an important contract for neutral alcohol. The plant for several million Euros will purify and concentrate 12,000 litres per day of raw alcohol of different origins to the highest possible concentration.
The design is based on the proven GEA Wiegand technology consisting of a multiple-effect distillation and rectification system, in which neutral alcohol of superior quality will be produced. The plant will be installed in Norway. Apart from plants in China, Russia, Poland and Germany GEA Wiegand can now present another reference plant in Europe. GEA Wiegand has long-standing experience in the field of alcohol distillation and offers reliable, proven and efficient systems for the production, purification and treatment of alcohol.
