Crystallization is one of the basic operations of thermal process technology
with the objective to produce a solid phase. Apart from separation, cleaning,
and forming of substances, crystallization is used for the recovery of
inorganic (partly also organic) salts. The crystalline phase is generated from
a solution or melt by means of evaporation, vacuum cooling, or cooling
crystallization, depending on the particular requirements. The solid phase is
